Whoah...that's scary!

There is this website called babysteals.com where they have a new time every day for 50-70% off (I think that is right...) but, I have been looking at it every day, and today it really caught my eye!

This lady's belly really scares me! Look at how weird those muscles are! That freaks me out!
I know there is never any way my belly would look anything similar to that, ever. I can't work that long and that hard, and afford the tummy tuck it would take to get my skin that tight and take all the stretch marks out. Plus, I don't even think it is attractive. I think that much muscle definition is just yuck. I like softer definition, especially on girls. It just looks better. Weird.

Costumes...and more

It ends up that I am making/arranging costumes for...Me, Neils, Anthony, Chris, Marlee, Rose, TJ, Luke, and helping my mom. That is 9 people needing my help for Halloween costumes! It is overwhelming, but I love it. I love to do things like this, to create something that someone is exctied about. Yay. But, I don't have anything really completed, except the baby's.
Neils is being Winnie the Pooh, so Anthony is being Christopher Robin, and I am being Piglet. Neils's costume is already made, though, so maybe I shouldn't count him above...
So, this is what I have left to do today and early tomorrow.
For Anthony, I have to cut a pair of pants into shorts, and make the collar and cuffs of his shirt white.
For me, I have to make my dress...which is piglet's body...and that's it, I think...
For Chris, I have to spray paint a jacket silver, make a wig of mossy/seaweed-y hair. and make a hot pink tutu (he is being this character called "Old Greg." You can find him on YouTube, but I really don't suggest it. Don't do it. It is kind of gross, and you probably won't get the humor (I don't, really, but I can see how some would).
For Marlee, I have to make a Swiss Maid outfit...a top, skirt with suspenders, and an apron.
For Rose, I have to find a flapper-style dress and accessories (I offered my old flapper costume to my sister, but she already had a costume, and Rose said she'd wear mine, but she is too big for it...so she said I should come up with one)
For TJ, something to go with Rose's outfit. I'll find a tux-style shirt or just find a vest to go over a white button up shirt so he looks like a man from the 20's or so.
For Luke...I need to make a stretchy white belt to go aroudn the waist of his nurse's outfit, because he is beign the Joker in the new Batman movie, where he is the nurse talking to Harvey Dent.
For my mom, I need to make a necklace with baby stuff on it, like pacifiers, bottle nipples, othersmall baby items. She is a being a "Fairy Grandmother." She thought of it herself, how tricky.
Yep.
And, I'm in charge of the Halloween party, too, so I have to make some more things for the party. I have to make some bones of skeletons for the kids skeleton game...it is a relay race where they run to one side of the room, grab a body part from a dish, run back, and they build a skeleton of the parts.
The second thing I need to do is make tombstones for the musical tombstones (like musical chairs) game.
And...I need to make the dip and the frozen juice hands (grape kool aid ice hands to go in the orange soda) when I get to my sister's house tomorrow. Actually, I won't have time for the ice hands there, will I? Geez...I better make them today then.
Ahh...some days I have nothing but Neils, some days I have so so much to do...

Oh, the things he says

Anthony: Okay. But you have to change Neils's diaper first. That's my only stipulation......what's a stipulation?

Photos from the weekend

For some reason some of these pictures uploaded with weird colors.

Isabelle, Ryan, Hope and Meg

Katrina and Travis

Katrina, Me, Neils and Travis

Sleeping in a chair with Neils

He really enjoys the back of the car for some reason

Isabelle and Hope playing with Luke...he was trying to make it say 867 5309

Neils loved this kitchen!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! When my mom saw this picture she asked me who it was...

Reading to Isabelle and Hope

Poor kid was fussing so much

Isn't he funny

Hope was swiping the placemat back and forth, and Neils thought it was hilarious. you shoudl have heard them giggling

Playing with blocks. Isabelle keps saying "baby, baby..." and hugging him and trying to kiss him and he was getting kind of angry
Yay :)

My Weekend

This weekend, I took Neils and Luke to SLC. Anthony had to work, but Meg said she'd help pay for the trip, so I went! I hadn't seen her since a few days before Neils was born, so it was time she finally meet the little guy.
We had a lot of fun, but Neils had a rough time. He is getting his two top teeth, though, so he wasn't happy most of the time. He has his top tooth on the left about halfway out, but the other one is being stubborn. He drools so much...and he is whiny most of the time. I gave him tylenol, and even teething tablets, but he just was miserable. I feel so bad for him.
We went to Wheeler farm, and Neils got to see lots of animals, and he played with Hope and Isabelle a lot of the time. Luke even had fun playing with the girls...at dinner one night, Hope even said "I want Luke" for something. It was funny.
At the end of the trip, we went to Cold Stone to meet Katrina. My family and her family lived in a duplex in Midvale when she and I were in kindergarten. When my brother died, my family moved back to Sevier County, and I hadn't seen her since. Imagine that...almost 16 years! It was really cool, though.
I have a lot more to say, but I just can't think right now. I will post pictures later!

Food food food!

Another thing… I found a blog about recipes and stuff on blogger, but I was discouraged. I am picky about recipes, and I hate when you have to fry things. I hate fried food. It literally makes me sick, gives me stomach aches and bad experiences. So…I may just make my own food blog. There will be rules:
-Nothing fried in large amounts of oil! I’d rather bake things or figure something else out, and although some of those things might be so, so good, I just can’t do it! EEW!
Well, that is the only rule I can think of right now.
I got this book called “Eat this, not that!” and I found it really entertaining. It will have a page spread on a restaurant, and it will show good ones on the left, and bad ones on the right. It will tell you all the calories, fat, etc. that’s in the dish, and it will tell you a few more options of each. It also has sections where you can find the best options for snacks, frozen foods, and more. I’ll try to get bits and pieces up and show you, so you can be as entertained as I was…still am….
Maybe I’ll make the food blog not only about recipes, but I’ll post what I am eating, too. Ha ha ha…that might be entertaining.

TV!

In my class, my professor just posted these facts (in my advertising class, talking about TV advertising today)

“By graduation, 11,000 hours in school(through high school), 15,000 hours in front of the TV. By age 20 today people have seen 800,000 tv commercials”

Now, what I get from this:
AGH! Too much TV! I know people really enjoy this, and it is good sometimes, but I really think spending more time watching TV than in school is ridiculous! At my house, the TV is on a lot. But lately, I’ve been reading in some parenting magazines that TV in the background is not so good when your babies are playing. That’s really all the TV is to me, though, background. I rarely ever pay attention to it. When my mom comes over to help watch Neils, or when Anthony turns the TV on sometimes, it is on the TV Guide Channel. From me…trying to find something to watch, but getting distracted or playing with Neils instead. Ha. They always say “Sierra must have been watching TV, her favorite channel is on.” It really isn’t my favorite channel, I just end up doing something else and don’t turn the TV off.
Now, to get Anthony, who says he hates TV…but watches is all the time…to stop watching it so much while playing with Neils…that might be a task. Ugh. I hate tasks.

1000 Journals Project

I think this is amazing. I've known about it since I was a sophomore in high school, I think. Maybe a Junior. It is this project where a guy bought 1000 journals, decorated the covers, numbered them, etc, and sent them out into the world. It is such asn incredible idea, and even more incredible that people kept it going. I wrote about it in high school, in the school paper, and even in my blog on Myspace. I wrote to the guy who started the project, got stickers from him, learned about another project (vandalsandpoets.com), but I haven't thought about it in a while, until now. I just got an e-mail saying he now has a documentary showing at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and he even has a book! I wish I could see that, and have the book. That would be so amazing!
Here is a blurb from the SFMOMA site
"This exhibition celebrates The 1000 Journals Project, an ongoing collaborative and participatory experiment that follows 1,000 blank journals as they journey around the world. Each journal is stamped with a message inviting participants to draw, paste, rip, or write on its pages, and then pass it on when finished. Exchanged by friends and strangers or left in bus shelters and other unexpected places, the books have accumulated a rich tapestry of stories, drawings, and personal reflections. Collectively, the journals have traveled to more than forty countries and all 50 states. Co-curated by anonymous project creator Someguy and Stephanie Pau of the SFMOMA Education Department, this presentation features a selection of journals that have returned to San Francisco. In keeping with the spirit of the project, journals and art supplies will be available to visitors, offering an open invitation to participate in this exciting social-art experiment."
Ahh..I love it!

Other things in my life:
Neils is getting his third tooth
I had my first day alone at work today (only my thrid day working, too)
First test of the semester
My other professor has been gone for three weeks, the sub, another professor, is kind of odd, but I really enjoy him. I enjoyed oth of them
Um...
I'm still sick. I really just have a cough now, but it is annoyoing and sucks. It is worse at night.

Baby Neils!!

Oatmeal container=awesome toy!

already wanting to get out of the bath tub!

This is so funny...he climbed under anthony's drafting desk, clear to the back and under the chair, and got stuck. Luckily, my camera was on my desk right behind me...

But Neils was ready to get out!

He really likes mylar balloons

He gets this big smile all the time

Talking to grandma on the telephone

He makes this funny face, kind of like fish lips but then he smacks them...does that make sense? It was so hard to catch!

Eating daddy cereal!

This one is cool, you can see his eyes looking at me. He was trying to get the cereal in his mouth this way. What a smart guy!

Irritants - baby talk and gay marriage

There are things that make me upset, and I’d like to share them.

I hate baby talk. I think that you should be able to talk to your child with normal words, not ones that may hinder their learning, especially if they are at an age where they are able to understand and comprehend just what you are saying. I think you need to talk to them normally! I think it hinders their learning, and he is old enough now that he understands and actually listens to the things I say to him. Ugh.

Anthony and I don’t talk to Neils like that, my family doesn’t talk to him like that, nobody I know talks to him like that except a few people.

Here is my chance to really express my voice, and I will not apologize for anything I say here—

Another thing that is really bothering me—and I know I may strike up some nerves here, but it is very important to me—I am a real believer of gay marriage. I think love is love, and people should be able to express their love with each other, no matter if they are male or female. I really don’t like when people think it will “ruin the sanctity of marriage” or that it is gross. Come on. The world is bigger than that! And I seriously don’t think it is going to change your life in anyway, so I don’t think you should try to take that away from them. I wish people were more empathetic to these situations, and not just followed what someone else is telling them to think. Live, laugh, LOVE, right?? These people aren’t any different than you, you probably know gay people right now, and like them. Maybe you don’t know they are gay, and maybe you do, but do you really want someone to be that unhappy? What if someone made it so you couldn’t marry who you wanted, for some reason? The reason may seem dumb to you, but they’d believe wholly in it, and you’d be upset, right? I hope I get you thinking, and that you really think about it, not just get upset at what I’m saying.

A few years ago, a guy I was dating asked me a question, something like this "If you could debate one topic, what woudl you choose?"
You know what I said? I bet you can guess. Right now, I am going to go thank him for asking me that question.

Ah, the funny things he says

Today, Anthony said,
"When are you going to graduate so I can be a stay at home dad?"

He is silly.

Hubby tag!

1. Where did you meet? We met at my parent’s house, but I barely paid any attention to him at first, for a few months. I was going to school and visited my parents a lot, and he was there sometimes with my sister’s boyfriend. He says it was love at first sight when he saw me…

one of our first times hanging out

2. How long did you date before you were married? For almost exactly a year

3. How long have you been married? One year and 4 ½ months. On October 19, It will be two years after he proposed to me!

4. What does he do that surprises you? Hmm…he cleans in big bursts without me asking him to, randomly buys me big bunches of gerbera daisies, calls me while he’s at work just to tell me that he loves me
5. What is your favorite feature about him? His eyes. They are gorgeous.

6. What your favorite quality about him? He always tries to get me in a better mood, he loves me through all my disastrous moments, he is amazing with Neils.

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Yeah, he calls me kiddo.
